Year 5 Kwik Cricket - October 2022
On Tuesday 18th October, our Year 5 Kwik Cricket team took part in a tournament at Deal Parochial. There were four other teams at the tournament: two from Deal Parochial, St Mary’s and St. Margaret’s.
We a started the tournament with a defeat against St Mary’s by 15 runs. In our 2nd match against a very strong St. Margaret’s team, some big hitting from Lucas helped us to a 12-run victory. Next, we lost to eventual winners Deal Parochial, despite some tight bowling. Our final game against Deal Parochial B team came down to the last ball, but we fell just short and lost by 2 runs.
We ended up finishing a respectable 3rd place. Well done to the team, who got better and better with every match.

We started our tournament with a 0-0 draw against Sandwich Juniors, playing well and creating plenty of chances. Our next match was a 3-0 win against St Mary’s, with goals from Flint, Finley and Stanley, who scored directly from a corner! Year 3 and 4 Kwik Cricket - September 2022
On Wednesday 29th September, ten members of the Year 3 and 4 classes took part in a Kwik Cricket tournament at Deal Parochial School. The tournament was a round-robin format, with the top two from each league qualifying for the semi-finals.
Batting first in our first group game against Deal Parochial, we posted a strong score of 245, thanks to an excellent opening partnership from Monty and Olivia. Tight bowling from Samuel and William, as well as two late wickets from Isabella meant the game was extremely close. Unfortunately, Deal Parochial scored the winning runs off the last ball to beat us by 2 runs.
In our 2nd game versus Sholden we fielded first. A fantastic team performance in the field, including some very economical bowling from Flint, Sophie and Milly in the middle overs, meant that we restricted Sholden to 225 runs. An excellent partnership from Gisѐle and Milly helped us to a mammoth winning score of 268. Finishing second in the group meant we qualified for the semi-final.
The semi-final against St. Margaret’s was another extremely close game, coming down to the last ball of the match. Batting first, we posted a strong total of 239 thanks to some extraordinary power hitting by Monty, who hit the most boundaries of any player in the tournament, including 4 sixes. Despite a great last over from Loki, St. Margaret’s scored the winning runs from the last ball.
Congratulations to Monty, Olivia, Loki, Samuel, Isabella, Gisѐle, Milly, Sophie, Flint and William for a superb effort and coming so close.
